About Dental Implants in Cleveland, OH
If you have a missing tooth or teeth, implant dentistry can offer a safe and long-term solution to revamp your smile. MINT dentistry is excited to offer dental implants with custom restorations to our patients in Cleveland, OH to help them enjoy a tooth replacement solution that looks and feels like natural teeth. An implant is a post surgically placed in your jaw (performed by a board-certified oral surgeon) to replace the natural tooth root. The implanted post or posts can then be connected to a restoration (crown, bridge, or denture) that is natural looking and lasts for years. To replace one or more teeth, make an appointment for a consultation at MINT dentistry in Cleveland, OH. During this appointment at our modern dental practice, you will learn about our mission to help you reach your goals while achieving ideal dental health.
All-On-4® Dental Implants
Nobel Biocare™, a leading brand in implant dentistry, offers All-on-4® dental implants as an effective way to secure dentures for a full-arch restoration. All-on-4 implant dentures work by inserting the screws (dental implants) at strategic points on the upper and/or lower arch. Compared to other implant dentures, All-on-4 uses fewer posts for a secure fit. Our team of dentists recommends All-on-4 implant-supported dentures if you want a restored smile minus the glues, soaking, or dietary restrictions that come with traditional dentures. Many of our patients have reaped the benefits of the groundbreaking All-on-4 process, enjoying high-quality results. If you'd like to learn about the advantages of All-on-4 implanted dentures, we invite you to schedule an appointment at our dental facility in Cleveland, OH.
Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?
Your MINT dentist may recommend dental implants supported by a crown, bridge, or dentures when replacing a missing tooth or teeth. You may be a candidate for an implant-supported crown, bridge, or denture if you have one or more traditional restorations but are unsatisfied with its appearance or maintenance. At your implant consultation at MINT dentistry, our skilled team will examine your gums and jawbone to determine if you're able to receive an implant. You may not be a candidate for dental implants if you have a periodontal condition, use tobacco products, or may become pregnant during the implant process.
How Are Dental Implants Placed?
Your mouth will be assessed at your consultation to determine if you require a gum or bone augmentation. If it is determined that you do, those will be performed and allowed to heal before your implant procedure is done. When your mouth is ready for implants, we will schedule your oral surgery to place the implant post(s). To begin your appointment, your team will lead you back to the procedure room and allow you a chance to start relaxing in a comfortable treatment chair, where we will give you a pair of MINT sunglasses and Beats headphones. Next, your anesthesia or sedation will be administered. Then, one of our board-certified oral surgeons will make an incision in your mouth and place the metal post(s) into your jawbone. This process will be repeated if more than one implant is needed. Finally, your doctor will close your gums, leaving the top of the implant visible over the top of your gumline. During the next few months, the implant(s) will start to integrate with your bone and gum. While this occurs, a temporary restoration will be used to cover the post(s). As soon as you're healed, our Cleveland, OH dentists will connect your custom restoration to the post(s), so you can begin to enjoy your newly restored smile.
Dental Implant Surgery Aftercare
Following your oral surgery, you may experience some inflammation, bruising, bleeding, and discomfort in your gums and your face. These symptoms are normally mild to moderate and temporary, but severe or prolonged symptoms should be reported to our office. Our team may write you a prescription for pain medications and antibiotics in addition to detailed instructions, including what activities to avoid, so your recovery is smooth. When your implant has integrated, and your custom crown, bridge, or denture has been attached, you should maintain a good dental care routine at home, which includes flossing and brushing every day. Follow-up appointments to check your progress will be scheduled. MINT dentistry encourages you to keep scheduling appointments twice a year for professional cleanings to keep both your natural teeth and restorations healthy and attractive for a lifetime.
The MINT Commitment
Depending on your dental insurance policy, some of the costs of your oral surgery and restoration may be covered. A member of our finance team will speak to your insurance provider to clarify your specific policy and calculate your remaining bill. In your consultation with your dentist, we can discuss payment methods we accept and we can give you information on low-interest financing. MINT dentistry is dedicated to helping Cleveland, OH patients get a healthy, beautiful smile. If you do not have insurance, ask us about the MINT Discount Plan, which can make it easier to afford restorative procedures.
